Job Description

The Sustainability & Green Buildings Specialist will play a critical role in advancing sustainable built environments by leading certification processes, advising on green building strategies, and supporting corporate sustainability initiatives. This individual will be responsible for managing the end-to-end certification process, engaging stakeholders, and contributing to business development by expanding green building services and identifying new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and develop certification process plans, timelines, and progress tracking documentation.
• Lead and manage Mostadam, LEED, or BREEAM certification processes from project initiation to final approval.
• Prepare, review, and submit all relevant documentation for certification, ensuring compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
• Advise stakeholders on achieving mandatory and targeted points in key categories, including design strategies, energy efficiency, water conservation, material selection, and indoor environmental quality.
• Recommend improvement strategies by applying value-engineering concepts to optimize targeted points.
• Conduct sustainability gap assessments and provide technical guidance aligned with client sustainability objectives.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors to integrate green building standards throughout design, execution, and commissioning phases.
• Support development of corporate sustainability policies, ESG frameworks, and environmental reporting for clients.
• Deliver training and workshops on green building practices and certification pathways for internal teams and clients.

Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, the candidate must demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
• Mostadam AP credential is mandatory, with a proven record of at least one certified Mostadam Residential/Community (D+C) project at Gold rating.
• Additional credentials preferred: LEED AP (D+C), BREEAM Assessor, WELL AP.
• Strong knowledge of Saudi Building Codes, Saudi Green Building Codes, Sustainability Frameworks, and Vision 2030 Green Building Initiatives.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in Green Building Certification projects.
• Demonstrated experience in business development, proposal preparation, and client engagement in the sustainability and green building sector.
• Proven project management, problem-solving, decision-making, client relations, and reporting skills.
• Strong communication skills in English are mandatory; Arabic proficiency is preferred for stakeholder engagement.
